What is Hypertension?

Hypertension is also called high blood pressure. It is a relatively common condition with 30% of people in the UK living with it, often without knowing. Symptoms often go unnoticed, so it is only detected with blood pressure checks.

Hypertension can place a strain in your heart as it is more difficult to pump blood around your body. Without the appropriate treatment, high blood pressure can have serious implications and lead to heart failure, heart attacks, heart disease, strokes or kidney disease.

Richmond Pharmacology has worked with leading innovators in the field of hypertension and supported their drug discovery process.
