What’s involved?
What is Trials4Us?
We are part of Richmond Pharmacology, a world-leading medical research centre based at London Bridge.
What will I have to do?
If you are 18-65 and eligible, we’ll arrange an appointment where we take a blood sample and carry out a short physical examination. We’ll give you an electronic diary and show you how to use it to record your bleeds and other symptoms daily. We’ll also inform you about some questionnaires to complete.
How long will it take?
You’ll be asked to keep a bleeding diary for 4-6months. It should only take a few minutes to complete when you have a bleed.
Where does the study take place?
Mostly in your own home with only occasional visits to our clinic near London Bridge. Don’t worry, we’ll arrange and pay for all your transport wherever you’re coming from.
Why take part?
You will be making a real difference, contributing to world-leading medical research that is developing better treatments for VWD.
Will I be given any trial drugs?
This study is purely observational. We’re monitoring what it’s like to live with the condition, but no new treatments are involved in this initial phase. A follow up study will involve testing new treatment and you may be eligible to join that once you are registered with us.
The information we gather will help researchers develop potential treatments to prevent bleeding in people with VWD - fewer bleeds, less disruption, better quality of life.
